Introduction:

Roane General Hospital in Spencer, WV a Critical Access Hospital with 35 SNF beds, 25 acute care beds, Level IV Trauma Emergency Department, three Rural Health Clinics and a walk-in clinic is currently seeking applicants for a Chief Financial Officer.

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities

  • Formulation and review of budgeting systems and key performance metrics required to achieve the strategic direction of the organization
  • Oversight of the accounting department and its functions
  • Compilation of financial information into financial statements and their presentation to various internal and external recipients
  • Responsible for admissions, health information management, patient accounts, cash flow management, internal controls, accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Responsible for annual audits, banking and tax preparation/planning
  • Participates as a member of executive management on a variety of committees
  • Responsible for ensuring financial practices comply with applicable government and regulatory requirements
  • Responsible for team who performs the recording and controlling of accounting transactions, including accounts payable, purchasing, and internal and external audit functions
  • Oversight of Payer Contracting
  • Ensures the safeguard of assets and provides viable management information

Required Qualifications:

Ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in health care finance. A Bachelor’s Degree is required with a Master’s Degree and CPA preferred. Medicare Cost Report experience is a plus.
