 Alex McFadden, MPA
Regional Executive, Region 4

Alex McFadden is a voluntary Regional Executive for Region #4 of the Healthcare Financial Management Association during the 2007-2008 term.

Alex is the Director of Patient Financial Services and Patient Access at West Virginia University Hospitals in Morgantown, West Virginia.  He also is an Adjunct Professor and teaches graduate classes in the Masters of Public Administration Program.  Before coming to health care he was a Controller for a private company.

He is a past President for the West Virginia Chapter and has served the chapter in the following positions:  Newsletter Chair, Board Member, Secretary/Treasurer, Vice-President, President-Elect.  He has been the recipient of the Follmer Bronze Award, the Walter R. Mitchell Jr. Award, the Muncie Gold Merit Award, and the Speaker of the Year Award.  

Knowing the importance of community, he serves on the Executive Committee of the local United Way Agency and is the current Vice-Chair for Citizens Review. 

Mr. McFadden received a Bachelor of Science Business Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in English from West Virginia University.  He also has completed a Certificate in Health Care Administration and a Master’s in Public Administration from West Virginia University.

His hobbies include: camping, traveling, rollerblading, and skiing, and he is currently writing a science fiction book.
